The ReWalk™ exoskeleton suit uses patented technology with motorized legs that power knee and hip movement. Battery-powered for all-day use, ReWalk is controlled by on-board computers and motion sensors, restoring self-initiated walking without needing tethers or switches to begin stepping. ReWalk controls movement using subtle changes in center of gravity, mimics the natural gait pattern of the legs similar to that of an able-bodied person and provides functional walking speed. A forward tilt of the upper body is sensed by the system, which triggers the first step.
Repeated body shifting generates a sequence of steps which allows natural and efficient walking. The ReWalk also sits, stands, allows turning and has the ability to climb and descend stairs. Using crutches for support, you can walk and speak eye-to-eye with others in the clinic or on city streets and you can also navigate slopes and uneven terrain.
ChroniSense Medical is a young startup developing wearable health monitoring products for patient use.
Unlike the host of companies manufacturing “fitness trackers”, ChroniSense is focused on medical‑grade, regulatory-agency-approved standards of sensing and processing physiological data. Our products are designed to improve the quality of life of the chronically ill by reducing dependence on the clinic and bedside monitors.
