Mellanox to participate in demonstration of large cloud solution at the London SIGCOMM conference

According to Market Watch, Mellanox Technologies just announced that it will participate in the conference. The demonstration will include Mellanox Open Ethernet switch solutions, and the Open Compute Project (OCP) Switch Abstraction Interface (SAI) software.

EZchip wins deals to supply chips directly to cloud data centers

BloombergBusiness reported on August 16 that EZchip Semiconductor won its first deals to supply chips to cloud data centers in Q2 of this year. According to the report, selling the chips directly to technology giants like Google and Facebook represent a new market for EZchip, allowing it to skip intermediaries like Cisco.

On August 12, EZchip announced its Q2 financial results. Among the highlights were an increase of more than 28% in total revenues compared to the same quarter last year.

Lumenis shareholders approve merger with XIO Fund I LP

Nasdaq GlobeNewswire reported that Lumenis Ltd. announced that the shareholders of Lumenis approved merger proposal at a special shareholders meeting held on August 3. According to the merger proposal Lumenis will become a wholly-owned subsidiary of an Israeli company that is, indirectly, wholly- owned by XIO Fund I LP. The merger with XIO is expected to close in September 2015.
